Terms of service

1. Quotes and prices

Estimates produced by the calculator on this website are indicative only and do not constitute an offer. A binding price is the figure we confirm to you in writing after a survey.

A written fixed price will not change because the job takes longer than we estimated. It may change if the work itself changes — a materially larger load, an address we were not told about, or access that differs from what was described at survey. In that event we will speak to you and agree a revised figure before continuing.

2. Booking and cancellation

• Standard bookings require no deposit. We may request one for peak dates, and will say so when quoting.
• Cancellations more than 48 hours before the booked slot are free of charge.
• Cancellations inside 48 hours may attract a charge reflecting the slot we can no longer fill.
• If your completion date slips we will move the booking where we can, normally at no charge.

3. Payment

Payment is due on completion unless we have agreed account terms in advance. Bank transfer is our preferred method and the details appear on your quote and invoice. Please use your quote reference as the payment reference.

4. What we will not carry

We cannot accept the following onto our vehicles, and any such items must be transported by you:

• Fuel, gas bottles, solvents, paint thinners and other hazardous goods
• Live animals and plants
• Perishable food that is not adequately packed
• Cash, jewellery, deeds, passports and other high-value documents
• Anything whose transport would be unlawful

5. Insurance and liability

We hold goods in transit and public liability insurance. Cover details and certificates are provided with your written confirmation and are available on request at any time.

Any damage must be reported to the crew before they leave site, or in writing within seven days of the job, so that it can be recorded and investigated properly.

We are not liable for damage to items packed by you where the packing itself was the cause, for pre-existing damage, or for items which cannot be moved without damage and which you have asked us to move after we have advised against it.

6. Access and parking

You are responsible for arranging lawful parking and any lift or loading bay booking at both addresses. Where a parking suspension is needed we will tell you at survey and can arrange it, but the cost is passed on at face value.

7. Airport transfers

• Fares are fixed at booking and are not affected by traffic or route.
• Arrivals include 45 minutes of free waiting where a flight number has been supplied.
• Terminal drop-off charges levied by an airport are passed on at cost.
• We check the published arrival time before departing for a collection; we do not operate an automated flight-tracking service.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
